Session #1 and #2

Yesterday and January 4th were our first two sessions of the Gold Star Girls, and we're happy to say that they were a success! The only few setbacks were that we realized we needed to change our timings to go along with Vance Avenue's hours, which are from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. So, our updated hours for the sessions are from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm. In addition, we have decided to keep the groups together for activities that could work with all age groups and separate for specific other activities. The session included ice breaker activities and team-building activities (Zip, Zap, Zop) as well as big activities such as coloring pages and book reading for the little ones and journal decorating, identity flags, and All About Me pages for the older girls. Our next things to tackle are planning for the Necessity Drive that we're starting at Hutchison, which will benefit all of the kids at the center, planning the field trip and fashion show at Hutchison, and helping Ms. Barbara with the finishing touches of the center's website.
